It was game 7. The last game of my career, before I was gratefully entered into the Hall of Fame. We were up by one. There were two on, with two out. The count was full. Our closer prepared for delivery, then pitched a change up towards the outside of the plate. The batter went with the pitch and hit one deep to right field. I was late, but was able to track it down in time. As I reached out to catch the ball. I had to dab. In that moment, I ended up breaking my back and ending my career. I don’t care what they say. At 72, I went out with a bang or a dab 😂. Whatever these kids call it.
